The body is made up of 70% water, yet most of us just don’t drink enough!
The ideal intake is approximately 2-3 litres every day – so that’s per every 24 hours. That intake refers to drinking water itself, not water content in beverages like a gin and tonic, can of coke,or even, cup of tea.
The best way to drink water is in small sips throughout the day, as this improves absorption. In fact, hurriedly drinking whole glasses at a time, only results in more trips to the toilet, so the water is not even absorbed properly.
Whilst you probably knew it’s important to drink plenty of water, you may be wondering – what are the actual benefits to be had? To list a few: drinking water aids digestion; prevents constipation and dehydration; boosts skin health; flushes out toxins; helps normalise blood pressure; stabilise heartbeat; regulate body temperature; and maintain the body’s electrolyte balance.
So, make sure you start drinking your 2-3 litres of water every day!
